Making guns against the law does not keep them out of the hands of criminals and terrorists. Making guns against the law or not allowing concealed carry, does prevent law abiding citizens from protecting themselves. I believe we should be allowed to own fire arms and have a concealed carry permit ( I do)

Have you tried the NRA's web site? How about contacting your local police department for a comment? The concealed weapons law just passed here in Nebraska; however, cities may outlaw the carrying of concealed weapons within city limits. Try contacting the Nebraska Attorney General's office for a comment about the new law. Texas has had the concealed weapons law in effect for some time now; a study of the change in statistics for crimes involving guns might prove interesting.

I don't have a website, but Texas was one of the first states to legalize concealed weapons. The bill was sponsored by state respresentative Susanna Gratia Hupp. She was a customer of Luby's in Killeen, TX when the gunman drove his truck through the front and went on a shooting spree. Her father was killed. She ran office for her district and was elected, SHe introduced the bill and it passed. Her position was that if she had a gun with her that day, she could have gotten a clear shot and taken out the gunman before more lives were lost. There should be a lot of info you can find with what I've given you.

People should definately be able to carry concealed weapons with a license. If you keep a gun for any kind of protection, it doesn't do much good to leave it locked up at home. Besides, statistically speaking, an extremely small percentage of violent gun crimes are committed by people who have licenses for their weapons.

Why would I as a law abiding citizen not be allowed to carry a weapon for my protection? What crime have I committed?
