u can make him a mix cd on ur comp ( free ) of songs u like & u think he might like...songs that u already have or ask a song for some cds to get some new songs off of and then spend the money to get an assortment of different kinds of candy & put it in a cute bag or basket or something... make it cute!! get a few different kinds of candy in case he has a specific taste... good luck.

Gift certificates to a coffee/donut place? Or to a concession stand at a movie theatre? Chocolate bars? Maybe you could buy a few things at a dollar store and make your own gift basket?

get a gift card or like umm..I don't know but I'm 12 too. Maybe some pens or u can never go wrong by making something.

Do you know what kind of food he likes? Can you get him 5 dollars worth of his favorite food or candy? Maybe you can ask one of his friends what his favorite food is. Also, a lot of stores have things like dollar bins that have some pretty cool stuff--I know Target has one. Good luck! :-)

almsot everybody loves chocolate. sometimes at the stores they have plastic candy cane shaped things for two dollers and it is filled with m&m's. it's cheap and festive!
