Nikola Tesla was perhaps the greatest practical scientist the world has ever known. No idea was too far-fetch or out of reach of his ability to materialize. Money and time, unfortunately, stalled many of his ideas from reaching practical levels. The world simply wasn't ready...

In this matchup, Tesla is not limited by the issues we face in the real world. He's a part of the DC Universe:-)

How would he compare against DC's best mind? Does he become the number one guy at Marvel or does Reed Richards continue to hold the title as the brightest? (with apologies to Dr. Doom fans)

Tesla.

Especially when he enters the comic universe. After all, when he was a kid, he tried to fly! (according to the "Man Out of Time" bio)

Take Tesla as the great technologist of his generation, and Richards as the greatest in his. Call that a wash. On top of this, however, it is generally accepted that Reed's intelligence surpassed human potential after the cosmic storm. So I'd give it to Richards.

I'd go with Tesla, he actually had plans to make a death ray, Reed Richards couldn't even cure the Thing without taking his powers away.

If they are contemporary, I’ll have to say Tesla. We still haven’t figured out how to do some of the things he said he could do, even with his writings to guide us! Otherwise, I’ll have to go along with the one who said they were each, respectively, the greatest of their generation.
