FAMILY must come before work - if it doesn't, then your life is empty, meaningless, and without love. People who put their jobs before their families sometimes say that they are trying to make life better for their family, but usually they are trying to make life better for themselves. My father was a hardworking man, but he always made time for us kids. He was the President of his paper company's union, and it was a demanding job. He worked swing shifts more often than I can remember. But he always made sure that he spent time with his family, no matter what shift he was working. He'd help us with our homework, play board games with us, and take us on family vacations.
He couldn't always be there for us all the time, but he tried - which is more than some parents do. Everything I learned about family I learned from my parents.
