Yes it is called a v-bac (vaginal delivery after cesarean). Many doctors however don't perform these. It also depends on the reason why you had to have a c section to begin with. For instance, I had to have one because my cervix refused to dialate more than a cm after 35 hours of labor. My doctor says that I should have a c section if i ever decide to have another baby bc it will most likely happen again. There are many different reasons women have c sections. For instance, if you had one bc your baby was breech, then if the next isnt there is a good chance you could have a vaginal delivery. But, there are some things to consider. In about 5% of women, a little less than that i think, their uterus can tear open from there previous c section scar during labor. That can cause you to bleed to death and can be fatal for your baby. That's why I have decided to skip labor all together and just have my baby "removed" next time! lol You can talk to your doctor and trust that he/she will know whats best for you.

Absolutely you most definitely can. My first son was born by c section, i was told with the next pregnancy that i could not have a vaginal delivery, i insisted on trying, and refused to take no for an answer, some precautions were taken, but after 14 hours of labor i had a beautiful little boy. the doctors then tried to explain this away by saying that if it was a hard and fast labor things would have been different so i was lucky, the next pregnancy they tried to talk me out of the vaginal deliver again but again i insisted, after 41 mins of labor i had a little girl, blowing that theory out of the water. Needless to say with pregnancy number 4 they didn't argue with me. I sometimes think doctors just guess half the **** they tell us after all i was told at 14 years old that i would never have children......

Yes you can. It's called a vbac. My friend had a homebirth vbac two months ago. It was the perfect birth in her eyes and brought a great deal of emotional healing from her emergency c-section 17 months before.
If you are thinking of a vbac, I would research doctors. Many OBGYN's won't do a vbac. So do your homework by calling doctors and finding out if once you have a c-section, you always have c-sections.
Or you could do the homebirth route. Some midwives have hospital privileges too.
Just do your research and you can't go wrong. Good luck!!

Yes, most likely you can. It does depend on the reason for your c section. Unfortunately, most doctors don't like vbacs, so if that's what you want, you'll have to go after it. You might have to ask a few doctors before you'll find one, but you can do it. Be proactive and inform yourself to have the best birth you can. And I believe every woman deserves a doula. Look it up!

it is possible sometimes but more and more doctors are trying to urge their patients not to have a vbac (vaginal birth after c-section) there is always a risk of your scar tearing in your uterus and bleeding but i think mostly the doctors prefer to do a section because it is more scheduled and faster so they don't have the watch and waiting with delivering.
