Don't try to buy one of those super lengthening or volumizing mascaras because they all just end up being clumpy and don't really help. Like two years ago I did an ad for maybelline volume express mascara and it didn't clump when they put it on. But my eyelashes are already long, thick, and curly to begin with. I think that brand of mascara is good for people who want the natural, not really clumpy look. Well good luck but I think the best way for your eyelashes to look good is to leave them natural.

I know what you mean about the ads.
Anyway, my favorite mascara ever is Maybelline Volum' Express.
I think it does a nice job.

I'm asian but so I'm supposed to have shorter lashes, however I was blessed, I guess you can say, with somewhat normal length eyelashes. Even so, I can definitely use some help in that department. I've tried all kinds of mascaras, including estee, great lash, name it, i've tried it and then I found the L'Oreal Volume Shocking mascara, its amazing and I SWEAR by it!
It's double sided and pointed at both ends and, again, its amazing! One side's the base coat which you only really need to do lightly, then use the mascar on the other end which is shaped like a comb, putting more of the mascara on in one stroke which i think is really the secret. Be sure you curl your lashes pretty well before applying mascara. It seriously makes a difference.
I'm not a professional make up artist or whatever but I feel like I know a lot more just from being a make up fanatic and trying just about every mascara ever invented. This is the best I can definitely guarentee you. It's definitely the best, and it's moderate in terms of its price ($10 - $12). You can get it at Target, CVS, and other stores like that.

My eyelashes are light and don't curl well so I've tried alot of mascaras. I found that L'Oreal's Volume Shocking mascara works wonders because it has the two ends that thicken and darken your lashes. If you aren't familiar with mascara in general, I would suggest not to use Great Lash as it doesn't work very good. Or if you don't want to use mascra at all, just curl your lashes with an eyelash curler for a pretty and natural look.

Oh yeah! Those ladies are totally wearing false eyelashes. For those commercials where they claim the product can thicken your lashes... suddenly they have twice as many lashes??? What? I don't buy it.
I don't have advice for you. I have the same problem and will be looking for others comments.
Waterproof mascara sucks though! It's sooo hard to get off. Yet, it comes off at night and I look like a racoon every morning after until every bit of residue has finally found a home under my eyes. I've tried the mascara makeup remover... baby oil... others... it's just such a pain!

I have tried almost every brand of mascara there is!! Seriously!
Try Dior DiorShow mascara ($23) !! It makes my eyelashes look long and dark. It was also rated Number 1 for "Sephora's Best Of" makeup.

The BEST mascara ever is Maybelline Lash Stylist Mascara which is a small comb. I swear this does miracles! It gets ahold of even the smallest eyelash and makes it super long and doesnt clump up at all!! Trust me on this!!

Ok, here is what I do...I use the good old fashioned Great Lash by Maybelline (I was a model from the age of 5-17). You start with a eyelash comb, comb thru your lashes apply one coat of mascara from deep bottom to top starting from the inner corner to the outer edges, blow dry on cool, apply second coat, heat eyelash curler with blow dryer on low, curl lashes for about 10 seconds each lid, then blow dry on cool. If you really want to make them POP~ buy a set of false lashes, cut them in half and apply only half at the outer edges from middle of lash~ I do this for an eve look.
Hope this helps~ it sounds like a lot of work, but, if you don't wear a lot of make-up (which I don't) your eyes are your focal point! & it is well worth it!!!

I just bought a mascara today called Diorshow. It's from the christian dior counter and I love it. I also love Lancome Definicils. If you're looking to spend less L'oreal makes a mascara called volume shocking and it's GREAT. I just can't use drug store stuff because my eyes turn red. I wish I could but I can't. I have to use department store stuff. Sux, I know.

I really, really like BadGal Lash from Benefit. It has a huge brush and it seems a little easier than others to put on. Clinique's Lash Doubling Mascara works well, too. If you don't want to bother with all of that, you can get them tinted at a salon.
