Congresses job is over sight of the President. If they try to impeach the President, should not every congress person that voted for war be charged with the same crimes, plus dereliction of duty?

Twist it any way you want to! Just remember, if the President is guilty as you claim, Congress is more guilty including your Democratic Congress persons!

If they voted against war, and we had been hit by another 9/11 again, would you be calling for their impeachment for dereliction of duty as well? Would you have called for the impeachment of Harry Truman for dropping the bomb on Japan? How about JFK for getting us into Vietnam?

Only the smart ones. Given the situation at the time I think it would have been irresponsible to have voted no. There's NO way to answer the "If I knew then what I know now" question. We will never know what Saddam would have done had we NOT toppled him! I would guess, though, that it would have taken some a nanosecond to blame Bush for not "connecting the dots." And they would have been right.

Dereliction of duty? No, voting on such things IS their duty -- even when you don't like how they voted.
Now, if there were a bunch who didn't vote at all, and that made up the margin of victory in the vote, then THOSE people might be guilty of not doing their jobs.
But, of course, that didn't happen.

it depends on what he's impeached on... you're kind of jumping ahead there...
I see a mr. abramoff as being much more dangerous to many more political careers than the war ever could have been...
but it all depends on what he has to say... and I'm sure we'll find out...
but that would only put those with evidence against them in harms way...

Aren't we going overboard here, just a little? It's not the war. It's the coverup, dummy - to paraphrase Clinton's campaign slogan. He should know. Declaring war out of ignorance is dumb, but not illegal. Declaring war for stated reasons you know are lies is illegal, & dumb.(proven) Lying to official govt inquiries & Congress is illegal.(strongly suspected) Commiting a crime against our citizens is illegal.(suspected, believed by about 1/3 the people in the country)
Some in Congress are also guilty. Not all.

Which particular war are you talking about? There is quite a selection. Do you mean congressmen who voted for WW2 for instance should be impeached posthumously? We can`t really do that sort of thing just because you don`t approve of any particular war.

No, they should not. They had no reasonable expectation that they would given faulty and manipulated intelligence information. They had a reasonable expectation of trusting their Commander in Chief and his advisors. The only good to come out of that is that none of them will ever make that mistake again.

Yes, everyone who didn't read the Patriot Act but voted for it anyway should be strung up. Same with the recent habeus corpus veto. You can't vote away human rights. "How dare you sir?"

I'm sure the people who lost fathers, mothers, children, brothers, sisters etc. in the bombings of Bagdad would be of the opinion that they're guilty of much more than that.
Like Americans, Iraqi's also bleed when hurt, they also feel grief when a foreign invader kill their loved ones and they also have national pride and dignity.
