The OTC skin brightening masks won't do much....you might see a slight brightening. The hydroquinone at 4% is only available through prescriptions, but if you can get your doctor to write you a script, it'll work wonders for hyperpigmentation (sun damage). But you have to be diligent with this (or any skin treatment for that matter). Use it as prescribed. If you're gonna just use it here and there, there's no point. Consider adding a vitamin C cream/serum to your daily regimen. It's an effective brightener. Try PCA Vitamin C Cream 20%. Another option is microdermabrasion, which is the "IT" thing in Hollywood. To put it in harsh terms, you're sand-lasting your face with tiny crystals to reveal fresh new skin. It's not as painful as it is unusual-feeling. Hope this helps!

To do that naturally the best way is to keep your skin hydrated. Moisturize with an unscented lotion that won't irritate your face, and try to stay away from extreme cold or heat that can make your skin blotchy. Also, if you drink a lot it makes the blood rise to the surface under skin, and can make you look blotchy more often as well. If you want to use makeup to boost up your complexion, use a cleanser that evens your skin tone. I suggest nuetragena visibly even...or something along those lines. A few things that brighten up your face is a little bit of white or bronze powder under the eye and white shadow along the brow line. You can even try a light shimmer top coat over or mixed with a powder foundation.

hope this helps!!

If that used to be all you wrote, this can be a violation due to the fact that you're answering a chatty query with a chatty reply. If the "lil..." suggests you wrote extra we ought to see that still. This query will have been published via a troll who used to be simply ready to violate the answerers as they chatted again. When you spot a chatty query, it's great simply to transport on.
