Yes.. and.. No.... Each of of those 'repairs' you mention.. I would approach a different way.

There are good duct (or duck, if you prefer) tapes, and bad ones. A great one, available over the counter, is the Gorilla Tape. (The manufacturer of the Gorilla Glue, yes) Ive used a private, commercial grade of duct tape myself for several years, with good effect... but I didnt rely on JUST the tape. The Gorilla Tape is the closest thing Ive seen to what I could get commercially. In many cases... I used aluminum tape, rather than cloth tapes, to repair minor leaks on condensing ductwork, etc.. and it sticks.. hehehe. I even had one occasion to cover a hole in a canoe... made by a piece of metal jutting up into the stream. We dragged the front of the canoe up, dried it off with a towel, and taped over it with the duct tape... and paddled on our way.

When you go to buy a roll of duct tape.. do not settle for the cheapest roll out there.... get a good HEAVY cloth, with a good adhesive. It will last a lot longer.

There are products that are designed to be applied to garden hoses, for example.. that will help seal leaks from the outside. Some of these even come in a spray can.

You can buy special paint that is designed to hold water back on concrete blocks.... I havent walked into a hardware store yet, and not seen one of these blocks with the water pumping into it, like a little fountain, on a sales counter.

If you are looking for one general purpose tape to stick in your tool box.... buy the Gorilla brand duct tape. Its twice as much as the other tapes on the shelf, but it works much much better.

Have Fun

There are some stick on wet tapes I've heard of, I personally have not used them. I do believe they can be found in stores specializing in diving gear and/or boats. Duct tape will work under water for a short time if stuck when dry, the problem with that is the adhesive residue may be hard to remove, sometimes lighter fliud is helpful with particularly sticky adhesives.

I don't think a tape like that exists. Whenever you use tape and put it on wet surfaces, the stuff that attatches it to surfaces is gone.It is most likely dissolved.Therfore, tape is ment to strick to dry surfaces, there is no substance that can stick to wet surfaces that I have heard of

I'll be watching this site, I can't find good masking tape, including the new blue tape, that will just stick or, when it does, you can't get it off or, it bleeds.
