My girl is 5 months old, she was watching me drink some fresh juice consisting of carrot, pear, strawberries, and lemon. I thought I might let her try so she had a try and seemed to love it. I decided to put 20ml in a sipper cup , and she absolutly loved it. I couldnt find anything on this in my books , and wondering if its safe for her to drink fresh juice like this? She has a keen interest in solid foods, but is mainly on formula. She has tried many types of fruit and vege and there hasnt been any reactions and is a very keen eater. Sorry to ramble, but back to my question, is fresh juice, either vege, fruit or a combination, safe to give my 5 month old occasionally?

its perfectly fine. i started my daughter on 100% juice at 4 months. you can make ur own juice using a juicer or u can just buy the juice from the store as long as it says 100%. about the strawberries.....just let her have it 4 like 4-5 days and see if she seems to be allergic to it the stop use of it and ask a doctor. but if she shows no signs then its fine.

There is no reason to have a baby drink juice normally due to sugar and empty calories, but since it's fresh I would hope you aren't adding sugar. I personally would not let her eat the strawberries or lemons yet - strawberries are best kept for after a yr due to poetntial allergies and lemons can hurt her belly because they are so acidic (just like oranges and other citrus).

Carrot and pears are fine - liquid is just one step away form pureed so that's fine.

it incredibly is achieveable, even though it incredibly is rarely a good concept. At that age a toddler ought to have formula or breastmilk purely. there is not any longer something in juice that he desires. it is going to easily replace foodstuff milk with slightly sugar water. additionally, few 5 month olds can drink from a cup, and juice shouldn't in any respect be positioned right into a bottle. Juice could be presented whilst toddler is able to verify to apply a cup -- often around 7-9 months.

Weaning can be started at the age of 4-6 months.
there is nothing wrong in giving mashed and strained vegetables and fruits. Please donot add salt or sugar or spices. The babys sytem is not well formed to handle these.
You can dilute the fresh juice with 50% with water.
Avoid citrus fruits till 8months of age- as citrus fruits cause allergy.
Then always check with you babys doctor(pedeatrician) and your mother, grandmother. They will be always your best guides.

Fresh juice is ok but you need to be sure of a few things--the fruit and veggies need to be clean and free of any pesticides--organic would be best. Also, don't mix juices together yet--she may be allergic to one fruit or veggie and it would be hard to identify which one. The strawberries--you might want to avoid these right now since they are one of the biggest food allergens.

The strawberries should wait until a year but everything else is fine. I know it has something to do with allergys but I can't remember the excact reason not to give babies strawberries. This being said allergys ddon't run in my family so I never worried about it. Remeber you know what's best for you baby if's it something good for them and you think they should have go for it.

It's okay. We always mix our juice 1/2 and 1/2 with water. I think that occasionally is fine.

dilute it with water and itll be perfectlly fine for her if she loves it then give it to her its fruits so its good for her just make sure you dilute it from now on, because of the acids in the fruits can give her really bad heart burn and thats not good my son was on medicine for it for along time and it really just sucks

it shouldnt be a problem -- its the "fake" store stuff that you should be scared of... its mostly sugar.... but fresh shouldnt be any harm
