nope. the more security programs you run at the same time the more they conflict with each other and slow donw computer's work. one anti-virus and one anti-spyware is full protection for one machine. the list of 74 most popular antispyware programs is here:
http://www.2-spyware.com/anti-spyware

both antivirus and antispyware are needed, because antivirus can't catch spyware files and antispyware has nothing do to with viruses.

No one anti virus program at a time is all you need or want. Having more than one installed at a time, will probably lead to conflicts between the two and leave you vulnerable.

You should however have an anti trojan/spyware program installed. Such as avg(formally ewido), a squared, spy bot, or others.

A fire wall is also recommended.

You should have just one virus program and one firewall. Make sure to keep them both updated. It is alright and in fact good to have two or more anti-spyware programs though. (e.g. AdAware, Spybot Search & Destroy, Windows Defender etc.)

no you do not, your system will probably slow down significantly. virus protection is not really a good protection as most viruses/ malware these days is not detected by AV. The best line of defense is to keep your patches up to date, and be careful what you download and execute.

LOOK! STOP MAKING THESE CRIMINALS EVEN MORE RICH - viruses are created (mostly) by the same companies who sell you the virus protection software - best way to protect your computer is to stay dissconnected from the internet when you are not surfing the web, don't visit any porn sites, and don't open any email from anyone you don't know
