To the answerer who was insulted by the question?:- no, my point is exactly the opposite as what you imply. My point is that most famous Americans are famous and respected for being ruthless, driven, hard, ungiving, solitary- all things that go against the grain of a being a kind person. I wonder if we are too one-sided?
I can think of a few: Bill Gates, Jimmy Carter, and a few of our famous authors. By modern-day I meant "still living". I would also play devil's advocate by pointing out that many in the US ridicule Jimmy Carter for "weakness".
There are many people in the US doing wonderful deeds for humanity, but you hardly ever hear about them. Why is it so unpopular here to be kind?
