I read somewhere they have one less than normal. Is that true?

Aborigines possess 46 chromosomes, as do other human beings. They are just a different culture, not a different species of hominid.

Totally untrue. Aborigines are the same as all humans and have the same number of chromosomes.

Normally, we humans have 46 chromosomes split as 23 pair. We get half from each parent.
