He's a relatively new, fresh face on a tired-looking political scene. And, he did give a darn good speech at the 2004 convention. Too many people have taken to comparing him to John F. Kennedy and there's no comparison. Lloyd Bentsen said this to Dan Quayle in 1988 and it seems to fit here just as well" "Senator, I knew Jack Kennedy....And you're no Jack Kennedy." Obamamania will die down if he fails to do much in the primaries in 2008. It's not his time yet, and I hope he realizes that - he needs to get some experience and introduce some significant legislation first.

They want to get it out their system to be ready for when the real candidates hit the spotlight. He is in danger of peaking then fizzling out early.
People do seem to hang on his every word to the point of adoration, which shows perhaps how desperate the whole political landscape has become.

Obama is getting the publicity since he was the first Black that is being groomed as President. The first time is always relevant to people.
