Is it possible for me to breastfeed my coming baby? I had my nipples pierced for about 6 months. They weren't healing correctly, so I took them out about 4 months before I got pregnant. They are completely healed, and you can't even see a scar any more. Will this affect my breastfeeding? Will it make it more difficult or even impossible?

I had both nipples pierced, there were two little holes (mostly healed) and the milk pooled in those little holes.

The lactation nurse said that you have to be careful that the holes dont get clogged.

Using the cream after every feeding or really as often as possible will work fine. I used it for my daughter. My daughter latched on fine and my nipples still got sore and chapped at first. Then when she was about two months it happened again. I use cream called Nipple Butter which doesn't have lanolin but I also use the lanolin cream. Once they healed I used every once in a while for prevention.

it shouldn't effect breastfeeding at all. The milk comes threough ducts to many holes in your nippes. it is unlikely that all (or any) of these ducts were severed and certainly not in both nipples.
