i have a ford focus 2001, i get the check engine led on. i know i can get codes manually with several accions, but i don't know how.

someone can help me with this???

you need to take a paper clip and touch pin b ang pin g together on the data link connector and it will flash the codes the data link is under the steering wheel.the check engine light will fllash.

Don't mess with no paper clips. That works only on obd 1 vehicles. Yours has obd 2. Most auto supplies will scan your codes and then you must diagnose the readings to tell what they mean. Don't replace a sensor just because it comes up on a code. That is the reason for the sensor, to notify you that something is wrong.

It can be achieved by disconnecting the battery, or using a scan tool to erase the DTC (diagnostic trouble code), but if there is a reason for it (the DTC), and the problem hasn't been fixed, the light will only come back on.

you can get a cheap reader at any advance store and this is a lot easier to use than a paper clip ,or a piece of wire,and they do good at reading the codes,,good luck,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

sorry you need a OBDII scan tool or code reader to access them
