You can can earn well over 50K a year if you're prepared to put the hours in.
But the Black (Hackney) Cab business can be a difficult one to get into.
Don't confuse it with mini-cabs.

It certainly can be. Most London cabbies earn a very good wage - but as a self employed person you only get out what you put in so you need to put the hours in.
Its not an easy job to get into though, the vehicle costs a lot of money and you are heavily checked and tested in order to get a licence. You will need to know London very well to pass the knowledge tests.

It is a great job, however that being said it is not easy to become a LondonTaxi driver, a long couse of learning what is known as THE KNOWLEDGE is needed ,takes about18 months , you have to know every stret and alley in the greater London area

Pays fairly well and it's probably quite interesting, you have to know London bloody well though to pass 'the knowledge'
