I am answering this question assuming that you already have a broadband internet access setup.
In most of the cases when you buy a wireless router you get a few cables and a setup cd and manual along with it.
To start with just ensure you are connected to the net with your broadband. Insert the setup CD into your PC. There would be an option to start the setup. In today's routers most of the things which come when you click on setup is a step by step procedure which even tells you when to connect/disconnect a cable to ur PC/router/broadband modem and also the power cord. The setup internally determines your internet setup and all other software configuration and only tells you to perform the required physical connections at the required point of time.
so just follow these steps and you would be wireless in about half an hour.

Plug the network cable from the cable or DSL modem into the upload port on the router. Attach a computer by cable to one of the other ports on the router. Run the set up CD that comes with the router. It will enable to wireless broadcast. After the initial setup you will not need the cable between the router and the wireless PC any more.

If you need to attach additional computers, go into the control panel and run the Wireless Network Wizard on each.

I would start by reading the directions that came in the box with the wireless router and also hitting the "Installation Instructions" from my broadband provider's support website.
