Guinness was an actor famous for the variety of his characterisations, ranging from eight separate characters in Kind Hearts and Coronets and Colonel Nicholson in Bridge Over the River Kwai, to Obi-wan Kenobi in Star Wars.

There were actually quite a few. First one that comes to my mind is Charles Lindbergh, probably because he was a famous pilot and I'm a pilot. He had quite a life, including the tragedy of his son being kidnapped and killed, and of course he was the first man to fly across the Atlantic solo. There are several books about him. Is this what you meant?
