Yes I am an future organ donor.
If I need an organ hopefully I can get an organ.
It would make me proud to donate an organ or have my
loved ones donate.
Do you know what can be used?
Organs that can be donated:
- Heart
- Lungs (2)
- Liver
- Kidneys (2)
- Pancreas
- Small Intestine
Tissues that can be donated:
- Skin
- Bone
- Ligaments
- Tendons
- Fascia
- Veins
- Heart Valves
- Corneas
Wow to live on by helping someone have a better life.
Or to have a love one that has died live on in 1/2 dozen people
that they have improved their life.
And to those that wrote "no because I am afraid they won't try hard to save my life if they know I am a organ donor" or that you are afraid you won't be "dead yet"....It saddens me to see such ignorance stop intelligent people from doing such an honorable thing in life/dead.
....

I do plan on donating my organs, I don't think I am going to donate my eyes though. I know they can be used and would benefit someone else but for some reason I am a little freaked out by that. Maybe one day my thoughts will change and I will be able to let someone use them too!

I am..I think its important to help those who cannot help themselves...I just want them to make sure that I'm dead as a doornail before anything comes out of me because I have heard some tragic stories about those things...but I am very comfortable with sharing those things that I won't ever need again to save a life or maybe more.

Yes, I have the back of my driver's license signed to let proper authorities know of my intent in case something happens to me.
My daughter also knows of my wishes.
There is really no reason not to donate viable organs.
Help save someone else's life....what joy it would bring to others.

I used to have it on my driver's license that I was a donor, but I had an uncle that worked on an ambulance and he had all of us, me and my cousins, take it off because he said people who had no/poor insurance, like a state medical card, they didn't try as hard to save, if they were donors. Scary huh? But I would still be willing to donate while living, like if my brother needed a kidney. He's a diabetic. Or if someone else needed marrow or something.

I am an organ donor. There's no reason not to, really. If I'm dead, I'm sure not going to notice. Only thing is I smoke, so my organs are probably all crudded up, anyway.

I am an organ donor. I'm not going to need it when I'm dead so if it will help someone else they can have it.

My mom said something... she said that it would be really cool to have a child see for the first tome thru your eyes...and she also said it was a sin to waste such good kidneys...
But, can you donate certain organs? or do you have to donate your ENTIRE body?
That is my problem, too...I don't want to end up displayed naked in a museum...or having a med student cut me for a year...That idea scares me, too. I personally think it is important to have something to bury for the family....
