She wants this purse and has been saving up her allowance but to me this is just too much to pay for one. What do you all think?

That's 2 1/2 days of work for me, and if I'd chose to spend my money like that, my husband would have nothing to say about it.

Allowance? Did you marry a 12 year old? An allowance is something you get for mowing the lawn!

You should each have a little "fun" money to spend on whatever, budget allowing. No one should hold the purse strings so tightly that the term allowance comes up. That is just asking for trouble buddy.
That said, no purse is worth that. If she buys it, it had better be a coach or something similar that will last several years. Still a bit much to spend on a bag in my opinion. I would feel like a prize idiot for spending that on a hand bag.

With a husband who gives her an allowance, and not much, if she has to save to get 250.00, I don't know why she even mentioned to you that she wanted a 250 dollar purse. She should've just went and bought it. Every woman needs at least one nice expensive thing, so if she needs your permission then give it to her.

Your spouse receives an allowance? that's unusual to me contained in the first position. yet besides.....you look very controlling and also you look to act like a father be certain particularly than a husband. She has to ask you what she will and could no longer spend her "allowance" on and in case you don't like her request you tell her no and he or she listen. i wager all and dissimilar has there own frame of mind to life. i wager you're the only which works and brings the money contained in the abode, yet in spite of everything in case you provide your spouse this allowance each and each and every week or month or maybe with, then she must have controll over that quantity. she will spend on even with she needs. that's "her allowance" by the way, it relies upon on the position you stay is how a lot hair fee, yet sure to maintain your hair, it ought to nicely be intense priced. i wager you want your spouse's hair? It makes her chuffed to seem good for you, then let her do it. On a area note........ Be a husband no longer a father to her. She is a grown women.........

She has an allowance? What is this the stone age? If she has a job, it is none of your business, and if not she has been putting money away for something that she wants. Does she cook your food, clean your house, do your laundry. You had better leave her alone. If my husband tried to give me an allowance like a child he would have been kicked to the curb a long time ago. Get a clue.

The point of 'allowance' is that the person can spend it on whatever retarded - or smart - thing they want.

Whether single or dual income, its actually a great idea for both partners to have an 'allowance' of discretionary money they can do whatever they want with without getting any flak.

It is her money so I guess she should be able to do whatever she wants with it but honey there ain't no purse worth $250. It is a big waste of money in my opinion.

I agree that that is alot to pay for a purse, but if it's her allowance, you really don't have much say in how she spends it.
