wait on your table? Say, it's an all american restaurant--think TGI Fridays. If your waitress has this thick accent (from other countries aside from US,) and yes, you understand them somewhat, would you rather have regular all american waitress wait on your table instead or it doesn't matter? and Why?

I'm just curious...that's all.

have some patience with people. an accent isnt a bad thing. what is bad is when they live here for years and dont know any english. at least she is trying to work and earn a living and knows how to speak english. try going to a country and learning there language and then you will know how hard it can be. merry christmas. ( by the way i am 100 percent american.

Really, as long as there's good service and she serves well, and isn't like a b*^% or have attitude which a fair amount of waitresses do, I'd tip her and be happy for her to serve my table just the same. Any reasonable person would do the same, an all american girl can be just as annoying or do a bad job/ have bad attitude as anyone else. What matters is the service.

To me it wouldn't matter. I would be patient with the waitress, because the country she may have came from may have obviously had another first language other than English. If an American/Canadian were to go to her country it would be difficult for them to communicate, because the Noth American foreigners would not know their language you see, or even understand the accent for a matter of fact.Like when I first moved to Canada I had a heavy Caribbean accent, and hardly anyone could understand me.Unfortunately I had to change my vocabulary and convert to the Canadian way of talking. Meh it's all about patients and wanting to learn lol.I love hearing different accents.

It does not matter. Actually, it's cool. I wish I had a cool accent! Americans come from other countries and it would also make an interesting conversation to ask your waitress where she's from. It's definitely okay.

Since your English is fluent, and you have got a moderate Chinese accessory, I do not see any disorders, except you attempt to get a role in a rural subject or small the town, in view that the persons in those locations would possibly not have as a lot publicity to Chinese members as they might in medium and colossal towns. I would not positioned plenty of inventory in peoples' critiques approximately "Americans are irritated at China for stealing their jobs." Perhaps a few persons appear at it this manner, however surely, there are hundreds of thousands of colossal American corporations who've moved their production and jobs to China, equivalent to Mattel, the toy maker. I see no motive why you might have a difficulty getting a role as a waiter, and in the event you did cross on an interview I am definite you might be in a position to observe prejudice and you would not desire that process besides. In my small the town, Mexican eating places with Latino staff have end up very fashionable. I additionally are living in an subject with a colossal percent of black citizens, and they're additionally absolutely authorized as waiters, hostesses, and so on. in no longer handiest eating places, however in inns, division retail outlets, and so on. You sound good-informed and really properly provided, so I see no motive for you to not search employment at anything eating place you select. Best wants on finishing your schooling and getting a facet-time process at a cafe!

That's an odd question...
I think I would give the waitress who has the thick accent a chance, I mean, she needs to practice her language anyway.
