The air goes down into the lungs and into the air sacs, which are covered in capillaries. The oxygen passes into the capillaries, where it bonds with the iron in red blood cells.

Hi. I think it's - O2 to the lungs through the lung's cell walls to be picked up by the iron in the hemoglobin and deposited outside the body cell wall, then through the wall to the cell nucleus.
