I'm being hired for a job and I was asked if I have ever incubated.

Do you mean intubate? This is when a tracheal tube is inserted into the dogs throat (trachea) for surgery so that it can be hooked up to the anesthesia machine.

I suspect you were asked if you have ever intubated a pet, which means to place an endotracheal tube to provide oxygen and anesthesia.

I bet they actually said 'intubate'....which is sticking a tube up a passage or organ, like up your nose.
