Spaghetti & meat sauce has a lot of carbs. Good for the night before a meet. The morning of pancakes. Great swimming food. More carbs and simple sugars for quick energy.
Just keep swimming

I would suggest about 15 pizzas. 15 pies x 8 slices = 120 slices. (2.4 slices each swimmer)
a pie is around $10 so $150 total which comes out to $3 per swimmer. I'd say that would be pretty inexpensive.

Spaghetti with meat sauce. The noodles give them carbs for energy during the competition or practice. The sauce is a good source of vitamins and minerals due to it being vegetable based. Lastly, the meat gives them the repair materials (proteins that break down into amino acids) needed to recover after the event or practice work out. Stay away from refined sugars and heavy breads-they will slow you down and they are empty calories that burn off fast. Stay with food that will stick with you over the long run.

Every night before a swim meet in highschool we all got together for Pasta Dinners at someones house. Literally had bowls and bowls of it. Lot's of carbs which means energy for the meet the next day.

Pasta!! Especially before a meet!! Provides a great about of Carbs but make sure you feed it to them a day or even better if you give it to them 2 days before so the carbs are working at their best before a meet!!! Hope this works!!

ok well it depends on what meal u r talking about. carbs r good and healthy. swimmers enjoy pasta-trust me. but if its right after morning practice bagels r good, but eggs in the morning r amazing. at our practices trail mix is a good snack b4 afternoon practice. just make sure ur buying healthy foods high in carbs. no pizza!

well...here, every sport (including swimming) has pasta parties before games/meets, and at these parties, pasta (obviously), bread, and pizza were all served. these foods help load on the carbs, and are relatively inexpensive, plus, most people like either one or the other.
