Blu Cantrell or Syleena Johnson? And does anyone know what Blu is up to now?

Blu is at least as good as Syleena vocally and her first album was much better. Syleena just happens to have the advantage of having come out with R. Kelly behind her. I'm asking this question of people who are familiar with both of their music, not just their chart success.

Syleena Johnson is a very good singer i have her first two cd's. the second is better than the first. Blu Cantrell is a one hit wonder. her only jam was hit em up style. last i heard she was a stripper and was doing porn movies. i don't know how true it is but that what i heard.

She is correct. Syleena Johnson is still doing some things, just not in the main stream. She and Angie Stone are them "behind the scenes ladies" producing, and writing songs. Right now, she is starring in a musical play called Soul Kittens Supper Club with Angie Stone, Monifah, and Tatyana Ali. She is also featured on quite a few tracks with Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, and others. Blu Cantrell on the other hand, like she said is a one hit wonder. I have been catching her at different red carpet events along side Eric Benet.(maybe their dating) But she definitely is not doing anything as far as music is concerned. The last I heard of her musically, she was doing free concerts in Harlem with RZA and City High, if you remember them......

And Blu is not nor has she ever been a porn star or stripper. She is NOT doing free concerts and she is working on a new album. She can out sing any chick out there, but most people who buy music are tone deaf and wouldn't know talent if it hit em in the face!
