Someone had to discover the colonies and establish rules, traditions and other things----at least we are not totally under foreign rule, but you have to start somewhere---the colonists let the other countries know that what was going on was not ok and did what they had to do to change it!

Well i think we had no hope from the beginning but to be filled with dumb people because those europeans thought they were discovering some new land, to bad other people had already discovered it.
Although i do like the fact that they had the balls to break away from the rule they were under.

To play Devil's Advocate....It killed nearly an entire population of native peoples. While Europeans were busy puffing their chests and claiming more lands, the diseases they brought to American decimated the Native Americans. Not to mention colonies were largely unsuccessful, and those that did make it, and by make it I mean about half survived through the winter, it was because the Native Americans helped them through it. Ironic.

They taught the world many lessons about colonialism. We can only hope they are remembered.
