Why do people care so much that the Mayan calendar ends in the year 20012. The Mayans are supposed to be psychic or something? Maybe they just ran out of room on the rock and thats why it ends.

If you aren't interested, why are you asking about it?
And try to get the facts straight. The correct year is 2012, not 20012. And it's not ending, it's going from the 12th Baktun to the 13th Baktun. It's not carved on a single rock, either.

The Mayan Calender is based on the Philosophies of the Mayan Civilzation. Personally I dont believe that the world would end in 2012 but you know anything is possible.

i learned about the mayan calender in my history class awhile ago. It means alot now because the mayans made alot of predictions about planets and the cosmos without the technology we have today which would have been VERY difficult. But i recall that the mayans made hundreds of predictions and so far alot of them (or all) have been right, or very close to. I may be wrong but that is what i recall

........the reason is that the Mayas were phenomenal astronomers, they predicted eclipses with such precision just as good as today's astronomers....usually when the Maya said something was going to happen.......it usually did....oh and they have the world's most accurate calendar

by the way the world is not going to end....its only going to change
