Not Very much. Most newborns generally sleep at least 19 hours a day, and awake mostly at night. This will probably last a little while, say 3 months of age or so. It's totally normal so don't worry. At this time they have their days and nights confused and is doing alot of growing. If you want her awake more, you could try playing with her, talking to her, move her around alot, change her clothes and diapers more often ( most babies seem to hate these) give her a bath, etc etc. Your baby is perfectly normal. Congrats on her and Merry Christmas.

She won't be awake very much at this time Newborns need approximatly 20 hours of sleep. My son didn't start being awake a lot until he was about 6 weeks old even now he sleeps about 16 hours a day if your worried call your pediatrician. I really don't think you have anything to worry about unless she's sleeping through feedings or not sleeping at all.

As long as she is awake enough to eat enough she is fine for her!
During the first 6 weeks babies sleep an average of 8-22 hours. So nothing is really carved in stone.

They say the baby should sleep most of the day at that age. My baby stayed awake a lot. The way I see it... If the baby sleeps let him or her sleep. You need your alone time. Check out the website below to see what they suggest.

Your baby is only 3weeks old, they sleep a lot. They may only wake up to eat. As they get older they stay awake longer. good luck with the new baby.

that all depends on the environment. but mostly 3 week old babies sleep most of the time. they are only awake when they are hungry, wet and poo. or feeling uncomfortable.

About 3-4 hours. Just enough to drink her meals and get her drawers changed. They do sleep alot.
