I'm having a big party for my 16th birthday , but the problem is that I gave out flyers to my friend but they got out to all the wrong people - it ends up that some people photocopied the flyers and gave them to people in like Grade 12 and they're a lot older and they are all planning to crash it. I spent a lot of time and money on this party so what do you think I should do? Bouncers seem to be really expensive and my friends said they'd guard the door and tell them to go away, except what would I do if they didn't go? It's just really stressful. Thanks!

Get the help of your parents and other adults. It may make you look a little less cool, but it beats having a house full of gatecrashers get out of hand.

If you can still manage it, hand out a second set of invitations with the name of who you gave the invitation to written on top. Make efforts to match invitations to guests as they arrive. While not 100% effective, you will get a good idea of who the idiots are crashing the party, as well as who is letting their invite get copied. Anyone who can't reasonable explain their presence at the party is asked to leave.

Set an absolute time for wrapping up the party, and ask 'guests' to hit the pavement if they aren't helping clean up. Then call the cops to help them with anyone resisting and warn them of any wanderers.

You may not necessarily have to go "Party Nazi" on anyone, but your number one priority is to have a safe and fun time at what is YOUR party. Gatecrashers can just f*** off.

Your going to be 16 so I assume your parents are going to be home. If they are not, ask them and some of their friends to be at the party so they are available if you need help with crashers.
