My wife is 26 and a teacher. She has always worn flats or ankle boots during the winter months--- never heels. I convinced her to finally start wearing dressy heels. What sort of hosiery should I get her for Christmas? She wears things from the Limited mostly, so that's her style.

Well you could get her into wearing thigh highs under her pants, maybe move her gradually into garterbelts and stockings then have her wear a bit longer skirts at first. That way you can build up her trust in wearing them.

I like the bare-legged look, but since she's a teacher she probably has to wear some sort of hosiery. I would suggest black thigh-highs with a lacy top. Nobody but the two of you will know since they look like regular pantyhose under a skirt. They'll make her feel sexy (and they're SO much more comfortable than pantyhose).

My wife uses Hanes silk reflection (barely there) knee-highs under pants and for special occasions, she has a pair of Donna Karan pantyhose from the "nudes" collection. Get a shade darker than her normal skin unless she has naturally dark skin. Hose does wonders for woman with less than perfect legs or pale skin and also adds a classy touch.

bare legs are what i prefer b/c i live in the south and it's not really that cold....but if she has to wear hose, i would say some with a cool texture--they have some really cool styles this season......definately not nude ones though; those went out with the 80's.

I go through about 10 pairs of black tights each winter. You cannot go wrong with black or brown tights

plain flesh coloured stockings, with no seams at the toes and completely sheer.
otherwise, ask the shop assistant if you are confused and or want something a little more

i would buy her some tights:
opaque black would be better as she don't wear skirts - you can see them when they are black
