Lightscribe is a technology that allows you to flip the disk over...as in not the normal way you would put it into the computer and burn a picture into the top of the disk. It requires a lightscribe compatible DVD burner and blank DVD or CD....It will not burn colors...

It's a way (created by HP) to laser etch onto the surface of a CD/DVD for labeling purposes. If you had just punched "Lightscribe" into Google you would have been able to find this out yourself

The others explained what it is. You cannot use LightScribe on a regular DVD or CD. You must use special CD/DVD's with a special surfrace.

You don't really need Lightscribe anyway, it does do full color print on dvd. Buy a cd/dvd printer like the Epson if you want to do that.
