I need some help in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater?

I need to know how to beat "The Boss". That one lady you fight at the end. I cant shoot her because she has a forcefield and all I can do is keep shanking her with my knife. Even so, I barely managed to get her to half health by knifing her, but she still kills me. Any strategies?

try using cqc then shooting her while she is down.
