Try filling up the gas tank with fresh gas. Gas that has sat over time becomes gummed up and can clog your port valves. So, put in fresh clean gas and clean the carb with carb cleaner and if its fuel injected, clean the injectors.

--The spark plugs go straight down into the cylinder head.
--The spark plug caps are on the top of the valve cover and go straight down through the cover.
--If you lift the tank up, you'll see them better.
--You need a special "thin walled spark plug wrench" to remove them (the tool kit should have one).
--There is a pipe going from the valve cover, through the chamshaft chamber (rocker box to you auto guys) into the head (there's not much clearence between the pipe and spark plug).
--The not starting part - the carb will probably have to be cleaned.
--To get to it, remove the air box (right side, round chrome cover)

Assuming you are talking about the 800 Vulcan. Look on the right side of the cylinder's, you will see the plugs wires going to the plugs. I suggest draining the carb. bowls when you flush with fresh fuel. The plugs should be fine unless you flooded them out. Good luck!

first you must remove your gas tank. turn off the gas going to the check valve, take a small set of forceps and remove the spring clip holding the gas line on. then remove the air box and air filter. under all that are 4 plugs they are a pain to get to but after you do it once its not bad. i just sold my 2001 green zx6r
