There are some who can't make a living because they have a physical or mental handicap.
Those people I don't mind helping.
The majority though were just too lazy to pay attention in school, finish school, or pursue further education.
They always have an excuse; I had poor parents, I had to work to help the family, I was discriminated against because I am blah blah blah.
It doesn't matter to them that others in the same situation have excelled by sticking to it and WORKING HARD.
They are usually the ones who whine the loudest about unfair hiring & promotion practices, even though they do the absolute minimun to keep their jobs, and/or change jobs frequently.
That type of person I do look down on & I don't want a dime of my taxes going to help them.

It's never justifiable to look down on others who are less fortunate than you are.
Yes, there are lazy slobs out there, but most people given the choice, would rather NOT be poor.
Jobs often go to those who have received an education relevant to their work. Not everyone can afford to get an education, so that is a strike against them right there. Why look down on someone who hasn't had the opportunities others have had??
I've seen more jobs and/or promotions go to people with good connections and very little ability. Sometimes "It's not who you know, but who you blow." Would you look down on someone who didn't get a chance at a great job because they weren't sleeping with the boss?
There are so many nuances out there that you cannot even imagine. The job game is often like the lottery.
The world is full of people who have done their best, but somehow life has denied them. It's not wise to look down on those in that situation. Why? Because one day you could be one of them!!

It is not justable to look down on those who succeed in getting a job because you never know what they have gone through in their life to get to a certain point. A rich person may have been given the necessities to succeed where as a poor, but intelligent person may have been given little necessities and have to work with what they got. It is not okay to let someone starve because if you were in their place, you wouldn't want someone not to feed you, right?
I would support that government program depending on the details.

Personally, I never look down at those who are less fortunate. True, there are some people out there who just plainly don't want to work and spend all the change they get on drugs. But it is also true that some people can't help their situation. I would definitely support a government program which offers to help people and relocate them to places with available jobs!

No it is not justifiable to look down on anyone...period. Life happens, and sometimes the hardest working people with the very best of intentions hit bumps in the road. I am not sure that relocation of unemployed is the best idea...I feel that finding, developing employment in there own area is a better solution.

Not those who can't work, just those who won't.
Your assumptions for #1 aren't as static as you believe.

I'm rich and I don't care. The liberals are going to try to tax all the money I have and take it from me so I don't care.
