To keep what happens there away from the eyes and ears of the American people/journalists.

Because in America we are not aloud to torture prisoners. Some silly rule about cruel & unusual punishment. That's why we have Gitmo for U.S direct involvment and the "black" prisons around the world for outsourcing torture. The Bush 43 administration will be looked at in history as barberic and inept. That is a bad combinatation.

it's a military stockade formely used by the CIA to torture russians. Since the patroit act it is now used by both the fbi and cia to torture americans suspected of whatever crime they can think of, and call it a threat on our freedom. Just remember not to spit out your gum on the sidewalk unless you want have your next vacation in guantanamo prison.

Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, a marine base that is "Locked and Loaded", it's very Isolated, which is where you want the "Bad Guys" ! Where ya gonna run to ????

Because that way the people being held there are not subject to US law.
As in having no right to trial,not being allowed legal representation and being held with charges being brought.
