Well, i'm a teenager and I love hip hip.
Overall, i'd have to say it has a negative affect on people.
Not just because of the song or the lyrics, but because
of the music videos and the way the singers dress in them.
If someone likes the song, likes the singer, then they probably
will look up to that artist and usually when someone looks up
to a certain someone then they want to dress and be like them.

It hasn't really affected me. I love hip hop.
I think their outfits are cute anyway.
I mean.. it depends who it is.

It's not as bad as parents are making it out to be though...
Majority of the songs have to do with break ups or being in love
or something along those lines. If it's not about that, it's about
how bad drugs are, or the artist's childhood.

If you ask me, that's more positive than negative.

but basically the songs are personal so it's pretty
ridiculous that people can be so affected by them.
it's true, hip hop songs do have a big negative
impact on people; positive too.

First of all AUSSIE hip hop is tops!!

and no it doesn't have a negative affect on people but more a positive, most aussie hip hop artists talk about their struggles through life, being put down because they didn't grow up in a big house. Talking about stuff that relates to the people around them in their country and town etc. they get a lot of people through hard times... because you then realise your not alone and someone else has overcome what you're going through

What's on the radio and airways today is not hip hop, its rap; there's a difference and the rap music of today can only be having a negative effect on people, it is not doing anything positive in the least

It tells kids to drop out of school and join the great life of shootouts, going to jail, being a "babies daddy" instead of a father, that violence is OK, women are bitches and Ho's and that it is perfectly acceptable to run around calling everyone a n!gger.....HOW CAN THAT POSSIBLY BE GOOD? the great thing about the "Thug Life" is it's usually pretty short. Look at several instances that have happened at rap award ceremonies with shootings, and stabbings...OVER MUSIC what a waste.

One word Negative

Negative, not as much talent in hiphop as good ole rock and roll.
Rap on the other hand is positive for gangsta's and social deviants,no talent required to rap, just be pissed off at yo momma
the police,boyfriend/girlfriend,teacher and society in general and you too can be a rappa.

well, it depends on the language. some hip-hop songs have a lot of dirty words in them, and that could cause trouble with the people who listen to it. that's why most of the time i listen to american idol or christian music. that brings a positive affect on me.
