I'm from australia so we dont really as such have "preppy" and "goths" groups unless it was just my school that didn't. everyone hangs around with whoever they want to, so i dont really understand it all.

But these preppy people really sound like major assh*les!!

Be what you wanna be no matter what some materialistic d*ckhead says!!! I'd rather be soulful and have meaning to myself and have real friends rather than be fake and plastic.... and have friends that are only nice to your face wouldn't you?

That is the problem...no one understands. These groups have preconceived notions of one another based on outward appearances and what we think their lifestyles and personalities might be.

I was a prep in HS (back in the day!), and I thought that anyone who dressed differently from me must be weird. I thought I had this perfect middle class life. I just didn't know better (and no anyone to prove me wrong.) Later, I met people that were so very "different" from me, and I realized that weren't all that different. Our differences were on the outside, not the inside. It takes time, maturity and being willing to take a chance and meet someone new.

I'll admit that Hot Topic freaks me out at first as I walk by. But then I remind myself that everyone in there has the same concerns, families, needs, friendliness within them, ect as I do.

ok kids, i know u have limited brain capacities so im going to help u out. It has nothing to do with not understanding. thats gobbly goop that only makes sense to people that are unable to think. do u like beastilality? is it because u dont understand it? if u bent over a six foot rooster once or twice would u then understand it and embrace it?

i know some of you are struggling with the answer, even on that one. the answer is no. u can understand things and still not like them.

freaks for example, and dont kid yourself, that is what goths are without a doubt. i dont even know what an emu is and frankly, i dont want to know.

people that dress weird and stick rings in their nose and tattoo their face up and wear dog collars and pokadotted spiked hair and wonder why they are treated weird might as well shoot themselves because they are too dumb to live. they are doing stupid **** and looking as weird as they can because they are losers and have not been taught a d amn thing from their parents.

so when general society makes fun of them they should not be sad, they should be glad that everyone realizes what screw ups they are and that their idiocy is keeping many of other kids from falling into the same quagmire of moronicness.

It's just like everything else that goes on in this world...why do people fight over their religion...why do people fight over race...sexual orination...

I come from a smaller school where stuff like that didn't matter. We still had the jocks and the preps and the goths...but they didn't really hate each other...they just didn't see life the same way...and I guess that's why they fight...because their humor is different, their clothes are different, their music is different....

The human race has always done this...and saddly they'll always continue to do it...because we can't all just agree to disagree and respect each other for who we are.

Only negative statement in this. WHY DO Y'ALL KEEP ON ASKING THIS SAME QUESTION!!! AAAGGGG HHYOU'RE DRIVING ME NUTS!!!! LOOK THE ANSWER UP DAYUM!!!

ok. Anyways, people fear/hate people/things they don't understand. If you're misunderstood or they don't know your 'primary' function, prepare to be well heckled. Also, for my school it was all about the A&F I HATED it! So, I didn't fit in, but at the same time made it a pt that if they had a prob with it, they could take it up with me & we'll settle it real quick. Get a big group of friends & honestly ignore the haters, Y'all look different, therefore you're something to be mocked/made fun of. Just b/c you're an easy target. 20 people wearing hollister & then one kid comes around wearing hot topic clothes? You're a target. **** em.

Because MOST emos don't even have problems. They are just trying desperately to fit in by not fitting in. Which is cool, except the way that they do it is extremely effeminate and annoying. Nothing is more annoying than someone who mopes around talking about how pathetic their life is and talks about cutting themselves. Sorry if I went in a negative direction. lol

You must be about 14 years old. Who really cares. When you grow up, when your looking for a job, none of this will matter. Be yourself.
What's with all these emo questions? If you type "emo" into YA search, there are probably 1000 of them.
