How to access setup internet connection with Ubuntu?

Question

Tried to use the command of sudo pppconf and enter my ip address & phone number but still no access. I'm using UBUNTU 6.06.
Then use sudo pppoeconf and again no connection. HELP!!!

Reboot, Let it load in GUI.
Then Settings>Network>and in GNOME is a graphical connection setup, reboot, (ctrl-->alt--->Backspace) and it should locate your network.
Why pppoeconf?
Look at the Ubuntu Forums and visit the IRC channel on freenode.
6.06 Dapper is a stable system, 6.10 Edgy may have better connection switches, but its Linux, you set it up the way that works for you.
