i just always assume waterfalls must mean something that out of reach and the rivers and the lakes where something attainable but in that case shouldn't u be reachin' for the waterfalls. i don't know does someone out there know?

You pretty much got it right. It's sort of, you never know what's coming next with the waterfalls, but with the rivers and lakes, you know exactly what's there and what will be there. They represent not only what's attainable, but also what's stable and lasting. With the waterfalls, theres a constant flow, which means what's good for/to you today may hurt you or even leave you tomorrow.

Could be that waterfalls are elusive--if you come back to the waterfall the next week, all the water molecules you saw last week will be downstream somewhere and the waterfall you see (now) probably will be made up of an entirely different set of water molecules.

Waterfalls are beautiful but can also be deadly...Don't go chasing after things that are to much for you to handle, stick to rivers and lakes that you are used to.

well everyone who listens to it has there own idea on what,"dont go chasing waterfalls means. However, the video is about a boy who dosent listen to his mother and leaves the house and goes and kills himself by taking some drugs. So I guess you cant take the name and make a decision. I think it means. Dont go chasing waterfalls cuz they are not always as glamour as they seem.

maybe it means keep your life managable? the lakes and rivers in your life are easier to manouver around than trying to navigate a waterfall....where would you rather go boating? niagra falls or *insert name of calm river here*

The only thing i can come up with is going over a water fall in a barrel. No one chases a water fall unless they are on drugs..''THAT'S IT'' ...Someone on drugs!!!
