When you walk through the door and the receptionist is the first person you see, it automatically sets the tone. The visitor begins to form an opinion right then and there. The receptionist should dress professionally, be well spoken, friendly and pick up the phone quickly and answer in a professional tone. Anything less, the company would be better off without one.

Very important. The receptionist is the first person a client or customer meets and so the recptionist gives the first impression of the company.

The receptionist should be clean, tidy well groomed, polite, cordial and PROFESSIONAL and extremely pleasant with great communication skills.

Nothing hurts a companys reputation more that a sour puss receptionist.

If I understand your question, This is the face of your business - the person/image any client sees when they walk in the door or calls on the phone. How quickly the phone is answered and how well the call is directed or handled. What kind of greeting do you have that makes your client feel important?

Exteremly important!!

The receptionist represents the company and they are the ones who make a clients first impression because they are the one the client first comes in contact with.
