YES.
we spend so much energy trying to make everyone happy, that no one ends up happy.
some words are just words. don't give them power by reacting to every little thing.
ps on the pc...kramer,mel....should not have felt compelled to apologize. non whites(famous or not) say the same stuff and worse to and about whites and each other every day. everybody has the right to SAY what ever dumb a$$ thing they want as long as they don't put their hands on someone else. plain and simple.

There are many Fridays labeled as such. Probably the most applicable one at this time is the one after Thanksgiving when shoppers buy so much stuff that the day is when retailers start to turn a profit for the year (see link for source). This has nothing to do with Africans, so I doubt very much anyone's trying to change the name of this day. Who is trying to change the name (who are "they")?

AFAIK, February is still "Black History Month." One would think that's the first name to change if this word "Black" is not PC.

Check again on your source for this name change. Seems highly suspicious.

I think people are finally starting to rebel against political correctness.
The Seattle airport Christmas decoration incident comes to mind. Wal Mart went back to "Merry Chrismas" instead of "Happy Holidays".

I think it's pretty ridiculous. Although Only P, I am a liberal and I think that the extent to which this P.C. movement has gone is outrageous. The whole thing has less to do with party lines and more to do with bored, ignorant people who like to be angry.

There are fringe groups for just about any cause you can name, on both ends of the political spectrum.

yes I do believe P.C. will have a ill effect on our country as it lets some people who are afraid to voice their opinion a way to keep from sounding or being in disagreement on any issue, but, when some one will not stand for what they believe in they won't stand at all,

We have lost Christmas. For me that is the last straw. The one time of year that everyone gives has been stripped from us. I cannot even put a tree in my office. Who are we trying to appease? We have forgotten the history of this once great country. Thanks liberals!!!!!

you all must be very fragile people...

it takes much more than changing the name of something to hurt me or the U.S. as far as I am concerned...

and it's all social norms... no one is shooting anyone over it... if you don't like it... don't do it...
