Yes blood tests are more accurate.I would wait another week and test again. Just dont drink, take pills, or smoke until you know for sure.
It could be stress, you could have yourself mentally charged for this. If you want it bad enough, some women have psyched themselves up so much their bodies began to react as if pregnant, but not really being pregnant. Weird, huh?

Blood tests Can detect a pregnancy earlier than a urine test at about 7-12 days from possible conception ( but if a negative result is received, a test should be repeated if a period is missed.)
Can measure the concentration of hCG hormone in your blood (this is useful information for your healthcare provider in tracking certain problems in pregnancy)
There are two different pregnancy blood tests to measure human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG).
# Qualitative Pregnancy Blood Test - This can only give a "yes" or "no" answer as to whether or not HCG is present. This test gives results similar to what urine based home pregnancy test kits do.
# Quantitative Pregnancy Blood Test – This test can actually measure the exact amount of hCG in the woman's blood. This measurement can help give a rough estimate of the age of the fetus. It can also help determine if the pregnancy is progressing normally. The qualitative test, described above, is not able to provide this extra information.
^ this one is the most accurate one, they perform this test and then it measures the beta and HCG levels in your system and then you go back a week later and have another one done, if your levels go up then you are pregnant if not then you are not.

A blood test measures the same hormone that the hpt measures, and if the hpt worked as it should, actually has the same level of accuracy. I had a similar experience, and decided to go to the doctor to get a blood test. I was a week late... she told me that the blood test would not tell me any more than the urine test had. I took one anyway, and it was still negative. As it turned out, I was not pregnant that month (though my period never came... and I NEVER missed), but the next month I did get a positive test.

Yes a blood test would be 100% accurate now, but if you can't do that wait 3- 4 days and take another home test. I took a home test a 1 week and then again at 1 week & 4 days late and both times it said it was negative. I was actually pregnant. Hope it turns out how you want it too!!!

Those home pregnancy tests are pretty darned accurate. Make sure you look really close too. My HPT just had a really light pink line that was hardely visible, but i was definitely pregnant. Do your breasts fell tender or are you having any cramps. Those could be signs of pregnancy as well. Good luck.

Blood tests are always more accurate because they can determine a specific amount of HCG (a hormone produced only in pregnancy) versus a urine test that must have a specific concentration of HCG in order to show up.
Please refer to this article:

You should contact your health care provider or find one in your area via the yellow pages that will do a blood test.

Better get a blood test quick. You don't want to be pregnant and not receiving prenatal care. That can cause major problems with the fetus. Go to a free clinic. It is confidential and accurate.

the blood test should show the hcg hormone if you are pregnant, but you can wait another week or so to test again.
