It really depends on what you're looking for in a game. The campaign in Halo 1 is infinitely better than H2. Multiplayer in both is about the same - both can be played online (H1 through Xbox Connect and H2 through Live).
Where Halo 2 shines is in the sharp graphics and the fluid motion of play. The ability to add maps and be updated over Xbox Live also helps.
Overall, Halo 1 is better for a single player or a co-op experience, but Halo 2 definitely rules multiplayer, and has attracted hundreds of thousands of loyal fans.

Halo 1 had a better storyline.
On-line play and graphics belongs to Halo 2.
Both games are phenominal. Halo 3 will blow us all away.

HALO: Combat Evolved was an amazing, genre starting, wonderful looking briliant game FOR ITS TIME. By halo 2, there were so many other 1PS it didn't really matter anymore, but comparing them side by side Halo2 is better...but just remember what Halo did for the consoles :P

well i dont play them but i heard from a lot of people that halo 2 sucks.

Well for mine Halo.OK 2 is the newy,but i still like the first one best
