This is absolutely not intended to sound like a complaint. I have just noticed that there are many Portuguese speakers from Brazil who use orkut. Is it more heavily marketed in Brazil, or is that how the word-of-mouth played out for that site?

As I understand it, it's just that South America really liked it. And the rest of the world weren't as fussed.

It was just a wave, people liked it, I don't know why. 4 in each 5 Brazilian young that has acces to internet have Orkut.

I too like to know the same, they have occupied my community even though I have mentioned 'only English' in the name of the community.
