Explain why mitosis takes place in human muscle cells

It doesen't, mitosis is repairing of the cells and replicating the cells. Muscle cells do not replicate, so if it's damaged, it won't be repaired. It does nto take place in muscle cells.

Mitosis occurs in somatic cells (non-sex cells) to replace dead cells and to grow. Meiosis only occurs in gametes (ovaries and testes) to create sperm and eggs.
