Selfishness. If we were just able not to think in ourselves only (this meaning not only to share with others on a periodical basis a fraction of what we earn or of what we have, but also be able to be generous in our thoughts, respecting and understanding others beliefs), poverty and intolerance would most likely disappear, or at least diminish. With no or less poverty and more tolerance, less violence, depression, addictions, etc. would exist. We would surely have a happier world because happiness nurtures generosity, tolerance and understanding.

I'd say The Smiths invented emo. Morrisey was much much more depressed than Robert Smith. Compare the lyrics. The Cure at least had some happy songs while there is not a Smith song in the world without at least one completely sad lyric. "Friday I'm In love", "Love Song" "Just Like Heaven" These are all gushy songs by the Cure about how in love Robert Smith is and how happy he is. ***EDIT: I also want to add Ian Curtis since nobody mentioned him. Joy Division (1976-1980) was around before The Smtihs. Their hit single was entitled "Love Will Tear Us Apart" and the group disbanded when Curtis commited suicide. Very emo....

normally I would say that we shouldn't try to "cure" any human emotions, positive or negative, because those emotions are natural, and eliminating them wouldn't actually solve the underlying problems behind them.

for instance, sadness, grief, anxiety, misery, etc are all natural and serve a purpose.

however, there is one emotion which I truly think the world could do without, and that is the drive towards violence. ok, i'm not sure if that technically counts as an "emotion", but if we could invent a cure to violent behavior, i think I would be in favor of it.

it would be negative self esteem..because that is my biggest problem in life...it's the cause of my depression and anxiety, anger, hatred of life, suicide thoughts, etc.. I hate myself, the way I look, etc.. I think if you ask anyone they will tell you that at leat part of the time they have negative self esteem..if we could find a way to "cure" this..I can't hlep but think how many lives would be so different..of course, plastic surgeons and those doctors would be out of business but hey...

jealousy. if we were satisfied with our own lives and choices, then we would leave other people alone & stop belittling them to make ourselves feel better. we could concentrate on bettering ourselves instead of tearing others down.
