With Windows XP hold down your CTRL, ALT, and Delete buttons at the same time. Your task manager box will pop up. Click on "Performance". Under the two graph bars you will see "Physical Memory". The numbers will be moving around a little bit showing how much memory you are currently using.

Run taskmgr on Windows XP. or you could also use the famed 3-key shortcut Ctrl+Alt+Delete. On it, click on the Performance tab, and look at the Physical Memory frame.

If you are using any Windows Software, you can right click on my computer, usually found on the desktop or under the start menu, and click properties. Here it will be at almost the bottom of the page saying something like 256mb. 512m, .99gb, 1.0gb of RAM.
Hope this helps, if you have another type of operating system you should post what it is with the question.

CTRL+ALT+DEL will get you there. Click "Performance" tab & it's under Physical Memory - both what's fitted and how much is in use at the time.

In Windows XP, press CTRL+ALT+DEL. The task manager shows the used memory at the bottom ('Commit Charge' is what it's labeled.).
