Forgive me for assuming that varsity football refers to High School if I'm wrong. At that height, kicker might be your best option. The only way you can make it at WR is if you have blazing speed. Maybe a return guy. A determined work ethic has proved many a nay sayer wrong but with the disclosed info, I'd say go with soccer or baseball.

quaterback throws the ball, wide reciever catches it but either way you might be too short to see over your blockers and find someone to throw to if you want to be a QB and too short to catch the high balls that you will be thrown. But if you have the hands, speed and work ethic coaches like that and may keep you on

i need a bit more info.
If its for middle school, then i say go for it, its a good time to try to play positions and see what your good at

if its for highschool, i won't tell you no, but 4' 7'' is really short for a WR or any position for that matter. it is going to be really tough for you. i was a saftey/cb 2 years ago, and i was made fun of for being short (i was 5' 5'' at the time, the only reason they kept me was because i was really fast and ran faster than most of the oponent's fastest WRs).
I would reccomend you to work on somthing to make yourself stand out. probably speed. if you can do somthing to make yourself stand out, then i think you'll be fine. I had a friend that worked on his speed alot. his motivation was "i dont want to be hit" so he learned to run better and he increased his agility and his dodging, and he started to break tackles really well by doing alot of wierd drills, and he ended up being a really good RB, even though he was barely 5 feet tall.

but remember, it is really tough to do all this

Peeerrrfect! Hey Cowboy Fan lookie here, he's it, he's the one. The answer to all your problems, wide receiver, check, you're gonna need one. He's smart rite?? check, and like all Cowboy's he's got that all important you just can't coach confidence check. Sweet. It's times like these I thank god I'm a BEARS FAN.

Umm...
Wide receiver catches the ball, typicly hight is key in that position unless ur like me and have speed.
Quarter back throws it and height matters less there

ALL I CAN SAY IS GOOD LUCK

I bet your best position would be either place kicker or place holder.
