I think it all depends on how the package was shipped from the UK. If it is shipped Priority Mail, regular mail, or media mail(which being a coat, generally wouldn't use.).
The item also has to go thru customs when leaving the UK and be checked, ect. and then put either on a plane or a ship. Yes, planes generally are faster. Once it arrives in the US, it then has to go thru customs again. Both customs can take a day atleast to get thru. Once thru customs in the US it is then shipped to your home. I would say give it atleast a couple weeks to arrive at your home.

A coat? What's that got to do with cars??
How long it would take would depend upon the shipping method. Overnight shipping would cost a small fortune relatively speaking; upwards of a couple hundred $$$. Surface shipment (ocean freight) would be cheapest but would take several weeks.
Customs is the red herring. If it gets held up in customs it could hold up an overnight shipment for weeks. That's not the fault of the transportation company so you'd still pay the high rate.

I also ordered a 2012 mini on september eighth and they advised me 6-8 weeks. As of on the instantaneous my mini is at the moment en route...Did you ask your broking for the production decision so that you'll music it? it truly is a touch complicated because mine replaced into anticipating delivery for extra or less a week and a nil.5. wish I helped :)

depending on how they send it: global express, airmail, economy. it takes approx: 1 day to 6 weeks. but since i mail quite abit for ebay to the uk usually its not over a week by airmail. This is not only by experience, but Ive worked for the post office going on 15 years.
